Formation history!
The band started to play in 1996, but Santos and Brito played together in Reltih since 1993. Reltih was an Heavy-metal band, then moved to Crust. After some years Reltih formation becomes Liberation (Hard core), and almost all of the guys became Straight-edge (no drink no meat etc..). Santos left the band. After some years Santos and Brito talked about doing a different band, then we needed a drum player. Brito knew Nelson who played with him in other severall bands. So one day we got in to a studio, the three of us (Nelson, Brito, Santos) and something was born. After a few days we were sitting on the stairs of our street thinking of a name for this project. Many names came up, but just one was chosen... Helpless "the name"
Well, its probably a negative name, but still i could give you a millon reasons why we have chosen this name. Probably this one is the best. Havent you felt helpless about the poverty in the world? Helpless to stop some crazy war? Helpless to stop politics sucking you every penny? Helpless to tell the world we are going in the wrong direction? People dying, people killing, children suffering, animals being abused! And ok, once I belived that one man can change the World, but this days I dont belive in that anymore. I am Helpless! Oh and of course, Helpless couse we dont play shit, just noise! (TY AMY KS)

The place is a centenary building and it was an old Cinema. Its called Soc. 1 August in Sta Iria de Azoia in Loures Portugal (14 Km from Lisbon).

Grunge/Punk/Rock
Well we all have different music roots. Some like more the Punk Style, others prefer Grunge. Common root probably is Rock/Heavy-Metal so we do some covers of Sepultura (Policia/Troops of doom). Some Nirvana covers, like Floyd the barber, Aneurysm. So has resulted of that, we make some music like Popcorn (Rock/Punk), U Guys (Commercial Grunge/Punk), and of course, some tunes with no distortion for the Chicks, because its probably the main reason we exist!
